A TYPE POSTER EGYPTIAN SLATE SLD

BYU I. Typography. Art 230.  Project 03. A font poster. Egyptian Slates STD.
This is a copy of my project from my university account.
Our project 3 task was to design a poster for selling a font to a designer. The legend was that we have been contacted by Fonts.com to promote a font by creating a printed poster to send out to professional designers. The poster should show the versatility and possibility of the assigned font. It should also contain all of the information needed for the designer to make a purchasing decision. The poster has a function to catch someone's eye, inform, and then encourage them to purchase a font.
The aim was working with typographic hierarchy in a poster format.
I had a doubt about my composition with its enormous weight of symmetry. But playing with colors I've stoped at this point, adding a negative contrast to a big letter a in the center of composition and making it in a fact asymmetrical. I've used all Egyptian Slate font weights, available in my school, which has helped in building type hierarchy. I like the color combination, it's my favorite and also the Egyptian type itself. Those wonderful serifs are so nice and stylish! Serifs of letters "T" and "E" create an Egyptian-like ornament in the very center of my poster. I was thinking about this composition as a peramid, and small "i"-s are Egyptian people in front of it.
